From Brazil to the world
The companies participating in the Orchestra Brasil Project provide inputs, components, accessories, chemicals, machines and tools, software, everything required for furniture production by the main furniture manufacturers in the world. Exporting to more than 90 countries, approximately 100 Brazilian suppliers are prepared to meet the demands from furniture factories, distributors and retailers of all sizes and types of furniture. Orchestra Brasil, an export promotion project for Brazilian companies that supply to the furniture industry, is a partnership between the Furniture Industry Association of Bento Gonçalves (Sindmóveis), and the Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency (Apex-Brasil).
The aim of the Orchestra Brasil Project is to support suppliers to the furniture industry in the foreign market, through their participation in international events, trade shows, trade missions, buyers’ projects and market research. Orchestra Brasil has been working for more than a decade helping qualified and competitive companies to operate in the global market. Our associates offer excellent quality, price and constant investment in innovation and sustainability. We are present in the main fairs of the sector: Interzum in Germany and Colombia, IWF in Atlanta, Tecnomueble in Mexico, Fitecma in Argentina, Fimma and Formóbile in Brazil.
Who can participate?
Brazilian companies that supply the furniture industry, manufacturers of accessories, components, machines, tools, various raw materials and software programs that intend to export and/or internationalize their business. Products promoted internationally include handles, organizers, wire goods, fittings, locks, hardware, paints, varnishes, adhesives, glues, sinks, basins, edgebanding, decorative paper, saws, machines, casters, wooden parts and components, synthetic coatings, and software programs for layout plans.
SINDMÓVEIS
Sindmóveis, the Furniture Industry Association of Bento Gonçalves, encompasses a much broader concept than just that expressed by the meaning of the word “association”. Furthermore, its commitment to the furniture industry is even more ambitious. Sindmóveis has been operating since 1977 representing and defending the interests of the furniture companies based in Bento Gonçalves, working at municipal, state and national levels. The association also internationally represents the interests of the suppliers to the entire woodworking industry, including several industrial sectors and service providers such as design and software developers. Its actions aim to obtain better conditions for the development and competitiveness of the sector, by providing innovative programs and support to its members.
Sindmóveis plays an active role in the development of the furniture industry in terms of numbers and quality. Furthermore, quality refers to the industrial or physical aspect of the pieces produced, in addition to the suitability of products for the contemporary world and international trends. Sindmóveis knows that only in this way companies based in Bento Gonçalves can maintain – and increase – their leading role and competitiveness in all markets.
Knowledge, innovation and integration to generate business are the pillars that support Sindmóveis. Proof of this reality is the organization of the largest furniture fair in Latin America in terms of exhibition area, number of exhibitors and professional visitors, Movelsul Brasil (which is held in March in even-numbered years), and the curatorship of High Design Home & Office Expo (set up based on the Casa Brasil fair and held annually in São Paulo). Also, the Salão Design Award for professionals, students and companies, the Orchestra Brasil Export Project, which fosters exports from the furniture industry supply chain and the Raiz Project, which is responsible for developing actions that meet the commercial needs of Brazilian designers for the foreign market.

APEX BRASIL
The Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency (Apex-Brasil) works to promote Brazilian products and services abroad, and to attract foreign investment to strategic sectors of the Brazilian economy. Apex-Brasil organizes several initiatives aiming to promote Brazilian exports abroad. The Agency’s efforts comprise trade and prospective missions, business meetings, support for the participation of Brazilian companies in major international trade fairs, organization of technical visits of foreign buyers and opinion makers to learn about the Brazilian production structure, and other business platforms designed to strengthen the country’s branding abroad.
Apex-Brasil also plays a leading role in attracting foreign direct investment (FDI) to Brazil, focusing on strategic sectors for the development of the competitiveness of Brazilian companies. The agency is concerned about providing employees with an equal and fair organizational environment. This attitude was recognized in 2015, when Apex was given the Pro-Gender and Race Equality seal by the Department of Policies for Women – the Presidency of the Republic of Brazil.
