High Design Expo will be held from August 21 - 23 and Sindmóveis has renewed its partnership with the fair for this year's fair taking place at São Paulo Expo. The Salão Design Award, Latin America's major furniture design award, will once again have a booth at the fair showcasing award-winning pieces from past editions that are currently on the market, in addition to promoting registrations for the next competition whose deadline is September 5, 2019.

The exhibition will feature 13 products signed by designers such as Daniel Simonini, Guto Indio da Costa, Jader Almeida and Paulo Alves. Moreover, the booth will host business meetings between guest importers and designers who take part in the Raiz Project, an initiative of Sindmóveis in partnership with Apex-Brasil to internationalize Brazilian designers.

According to the president of Sindmóveis, Vinicius Benini, the actions carried out by Sindmóveis at High Design Expo are part of the association's initiatives to enhance design - either through the Brazilian furniture design award or through actions aimed at the foreign market. The Raiz Project aims to broaden the market's perception of Brazilian furniture and, consequently, to expand the conditions of Brazilian companies to export value-added products. "Undoubtedly, the greatest global competitive edge of Brazilian furniture today comes from the increasingly valued attributes of design and innovation," he says.

Design is in our nature

Sindmóveis Bento Gonçalves has design in its core and throughout its history. Since 1998, the association has organized the Salão Design Award – the major Brazilian furniture design award. Established in 2012, the Raiz Project aims to support the internationalization of Brazilian design. Together with Grupo Informa, High Design Expo, a partner of Sindmóveis, continues the work of Casa Brasil in São Paulo, a furniture show for high-end products held by Sindmóveis for four times since 2007 in Serra Gaucha. Currently, High Design Expo is the anchor event of DW! São Paulo Design Weekend, a great urban festival that celebrates design culture and its connections with architecture, arts, décor, urbanism, social inclusion, business and technological innovation.
